As a teacher, my goal is to encourage students to think about learning as a process, essential to their growth and development as future citizens. In each of my classes, I work hard to help students understand the potential they have and how learning can help them realize their potential. While I do not expect all students to be history majors, I do expect them to appreciate learning. I recognize that each student has their own goals in life and that as a teacher, I am there to support them in achieving their goals. My support can be seen in the daily assignments and challenges I set for my students to the growth they see at the end of the year due to having taken my class. I am always impressed by the amount of progress students make by the end of the year and how aware they have become of the relationship learning has to their future.
