My name is Ms. S. and I have been teaching US History for four years and AP US History for two years. In my role as a lead teacher I have also independently developed curriculum and lead the Humanities department at my school, creating professional development experiences for my colleagues. I love teaching high school students about US history because there are so many lessons and themes from the past we can use to navigate the world as we know it today. I really enjoy having the deeper philosophical discussions that teaching US History often inspires. Before I started working full time, I majored in History and East Asian Studies at Brandeis University. I then went on to receive my Masters in Teaching Social Studies at Teachers College, Columbia University.
